Tata Motors is all set to introduce another powerful SUV to its passenger vehicle range — and it’s arriving with the new year! Stay tuned as Tata continues to redefine Indian roads with its modern, tech-packed machines.

he Tata Sierra was originally a three-door SUV and holds the distinction of being India’s first SUV, launched in 1991. It was based on the Tata Telcoline, which itself was introduced in 1988. The Sierra was Tata Motors’ first off-road SUV, and it came with several advanced features for its time.
In 1991, the Tata Sierra became the first SUV to be manufactured in India, marking a significant milestone in the country’s automotive history.



Now, the same Tata Sierra is all set to be launched in India with a modern design.
The Sierra EV concept was showcased alongside the Harrier EV concept at Auto Expo 2023. Tata Motors has also filed a design patent for the upcoming Sierra, giving us a glimpse of its styling direction.
The Sierra EV concept was officially unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023 along with the Harrier EV, highlighting Tata’s commitment to electric mobility and futuristic design.


The Sierra EV concept is expected to enter production in 2025.

  • A large bumper
  • LED headlamp setup
  • Connected LED tail lights
  • Square-shaped wheel arches
  • Thick body cladding
  • Flush door handles

Interior highlights of the Sierra EV include:

  • A dual-tone dashboard layout
  • Sleek air vents
  • A flat-bottom steering wheel with integrated controls
  • A large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and built-in navigation
  • A fully digital instrument cluster




In 2023, Tata showcased several advanced technologies in the Sierra EV concept, such as a large infotainment and cluster screen, and a glowing Tata logo on the steering wheel, all wrapped in a modern design.
These features are now being incorporated across Tata’s entire passenger vehicle lineup, which means we’ll soon see Tata’s bold new SUV — the Sierra — roaring down Indian roads.
